Go 'clubbing' at RMA

The clubs that are available this year are newspaper, digital media, speech and debate, computers, yearbook, percussion, Helping Hands and Aspirers. Students can join easily by just attending a few times.
Mrs. Rubino, the print media teacher at the RMA, will have her holds meetings for newspaper club in her room on Wednesdays. Anyone can join the club but they can’t be on probation. “You just have to come to one of the meetings.”
Ms. Simington, a journalism and communication teacher at the RMA, runs the speech and debate club. “I love doing it and we did well at the competitions last year,” she said.
Meetings are held in the Lecture hall. Anyone can join but they have to go to the practices and competitions. You have to go and sign up and go to the practices to join.
Mr. Fitzgerald, the computer teacher at the RMA, said, “I am having my club because I have a computer lab and also I feel that everyone deserves the computers.” This club will be held in his room. Anyone can join this club. “You have to let me know the day that you are coming,” said Mr. Fitzgerald.
Mr. Dethy, the digital media teacher, at the RMA said, “I have my club so that I can give extra time for students to produce more media outside of class.” This club is held every Tuesday in his room 313. “The club is open to all eighth grade classes that I have and soon hope to open it to everyone,” said Mr. Dethy. To join just go and you will be assigned a project.
Mrs. Gogolen, the ELA teacher at the RMA and leader of Helping Hands, said, “I want to continue to do community service with the school.” Her club will be held in her room on Tuesdays. This is for community service hours for students. “Anyone can join, the more the merrier,” said Mrs. Gogolen.
