How Do the New Kids Feel?

Going into the sixth grade is a big transition. These students are new to changing classes, moving from class to class, the amount of homework, and all of the other events that elementary schools do not include.

Sabrina Elouardi, a student in 6-M, said, “ School is fun, but I think switching is difficult.”
Elouardi’s comment is different from Jeffrey Tran, a student is 6-E,  who said, "It’s [sixth grade] fun and I find nothing bad at all.”

Asmir Zeher, a sixth grade honors student, said, “I’m meeting new friends and having new teachers that I like, but I don’t like having too many classes with a short period of time to get to.”

Angelo Dimino, a sixth grade honors student, said, “I think the homework is easy, but too long.”

Sixth grade students are getting involved with the school’s activities. These activities include pajama day, hat day, the newspaper club, and the track and field team. Students are completing their work, paying attention in class, and successfully finishing their tests, and getting good grades.
